Two teams from the Yale School of Management and one from the Fudan University School of Management have been selected as finalists for the “Yale-Geithner Challenge: Visualizing Financial Crises in the Modern World.”

The three finalist videos are posted on the Yale-Geithner Challenge website.

Student teams from across the Global Network for Advanced Management submitted videos to explore the causes and management of worldwide financial crises. The three finalist teams will meet at Yale for an event on April 30 – May 1, where former U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner will provide feedback on their videos and a winning team will be announced.

The competition required students to create four to seven minute-long videos with short presentations explaining aspects of why financial panics happen and how that situation can be reversed. The aim is to allow teams to hone-in on the issue and explain the concept to a broad audience that doesn’t have financial expertise.

The Fudan team will receive free travel to New Haven and lodging during the finals. Yale finalist teams will receive a trip, including travel and lodging, to a European city that hosts a Global Network school.
