UNSW Business School Australia
This course builds on a wide range of MBA courses and provides opportunities to apply the learnings from your MBA using hands on exercises. You will learn how to develop a strategy, test if it is any good, cascade the strategy through the organisation, align the operating model and organisation design to deliver on the strategy, and manage the change and people aspects successfully.
In addition to strategy, this course also covers operating models, organisation structure, performance measurement, governance and role of boards, risk management, culture and change management, as well as considering the role of leaders in successful strategy implementation. The approach includes readings before class and in class application of those learnings to real world situations. In addition, you will hear from executive guest speakers to gain a range of perspectives on what leaders need to do to enable their businesses to succeed.
The course facilitator is AGSM Adjunct Professor Greg Joffe. Greg has taught strategy on AGSM’s full-time MBA program since 2014, while also a Senior Principal at Nous Group, a 700-person management consulting firm founded in Australia and now also operating in Canada and the United Kingdom. Nous works in strategy, organisation alignment and people capability development. Greg has led major projects in strategy, operating models, organisation structure, performance measures, corporate services design, major change management and implementation, and culture for many organisations. He leads Nous’ global Defence practice and previously led the global strategy practices.”
