An Evening with Yale's Nobel Prize Winning Economist, Professor Robert Shiller, In New York City

March 6, 2015

Alumni of GNAM schools are invited to join Nobel Prize-winner and Yale Sterling Professor of Economics Robert Shiller for a discussion on “Irrational Exuberance.”

On the evening of Wednesday, March 18, alumni of GNAM schools are invited to join Nobel Prize-winner and Yale Sterling Professor of Economics Robert Shiller for a discussion on “Irrational Exuberance.” The revised, updated, and expanded third edition of his New York Times bestseller cautions that signs of irrational exuberance among investors have only increased since the 2008-09 financial crisis. With high stock and bond prices in the United States, and rising housing prices in many countries, the post-subprime boom may well turn out to be another illustration of Shiller’s influential argument that psychologically driven volatility is an inherent characteristic of all asset markets. Copies of Professor Shiller's book will be available to purchase with your registration at 40% off the publisher's price. All books will be signed by Professor Shiller at the event.

You’ll also have a unique opportunity to discuss these issues in a global context with MBA students from around the world. Students from Global Network for Advanced Management schools will be in New York as part of Global Network Week, which gives MBA students the opportunity to pursue intensive study at schools including Yale SOM.

Appetizers and beverages will be served and networking time will be provided at the beginning and end of the event.  Registration is required.  Space is limited.
